Tour of Guam 2026 Postponed Following Supertyphoon Sinlaku

Guam — April 18, 2026 — The Guam Cycling Federation (GCF), in collaboration with its race sponsor, the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), announces the postponement of the Tour of Guam 2026 following the recent passage of Supertyphoon Sinlaku over the island earlier this week.

While this decision was not made lightly, GCF and GVB are united in prioritizing the safety and well-being of all riders, volunteers, and the broader community. The storm has left many areas of the race course impacted, with debris and unsafe road conditions posing significant risks.

In addition, the Tour of Guam relies heavily on the support of local agencies, including Guam Police and various mayor’s offices. At this time, these critical partners are focused on recovery efforts and supporting the community in the aftermath of the storm. It is essential that their resources remain dedicated to those efforts.

GCF is actively working alongside GVB to determine a new race date. Once finalized, the updated schedule will be shared with the public and all registered participants.

Registered riders are currently being contacted directly with information regarding the postponement, including options and next steps.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued support from our local and international cycling community during this time,” said Monessa Horton, GCF president.  “Our focus remains on ensuring a safe and successful event when conditions allow.”

GUAM CYCLING FEDERATION NATIONAL TEAM POINTS SYSTEM

The Guam Cycling Federation's (GCF) Has re-established a points system where our elite riders will compete in pre-designated events for road and mountain bike, in order to garner points based on placement. These points will be used to determine national team selections for the following calendar year. Click here for more information.
