2019 OCEANIA MTB CHAMPIONSHIP / PACIFIC MTB CHAMPIONSHIP
We are pleased to announce the 2019 Oceania Mountain Bike Championships will be held in Bright, Victoria (Australia) April 8 - 10, 2019. Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) all be conducting the race. This annual event awards important UCI (Union de Cycliste Internatiionale) points for participating UCI recognized countries. As such, strict residency requirements as outlined by the Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC) will be followed. All interested candidates to represent the Guam Cycling Federation in this event should send a letter of intent to [email protected] by February 15. Participation and ranking of eligible riders in the upcoming Guam National Mountain Bike Championship, taking place 17 March 2019, will determine the representatives for the Oceania MTB Championships.
We also take this opportunity to announce the proposed Pacific Mountain Bike Championships, which will be held in conjunction with the Oceania MTB Championships. The Pacific MTB Championship will be conducted alongside the respective Oceania category event as listed in the attached schedule, with a slight modifications (fewer laps for Pacific Championship). No UCI points will be awarded for this race and GNOC residency requirements will not be in effect. We invite all interested members of the Guam Cycling Federation to submit their letter of intent to [email protected]. Please note: as this event is not a sanctioned UCI race, expenses related to participation in this event is the responsibility of each individual team member. However, GCF will provide administrative assistance and fundraising activities.
